I can also use industry specific tools like Surfer and AutoCAD for technical accuracy. What file formats do you deliver? The file format and resolution depends on your needs. What resolution do you work at? It depends on the end use of the art. Art for print, web site, or presentation are generally different. I will need to know in advance in order to meet your needs. Are you technically accurate? I can be. I can work from your data files. I can complete technical cross-sections, maps or graphs. I can also use what you give me as the basis for a computer aided hand enhanced illustration for an imaginative drilling project on mars or the ocean floor. There are no limits. What artistic style do you use? I can work in multiple technical illustration styles. I prefer to use vibrant colors but I can go pastel. Photo realistic, technical, or impressionist... I do what you want... establish a visual signature or blend with your existing illustrations. All illustrations are hand drawn using computer. NO autotracing... It's up to you. How long does it take? That depends on my schedule and the scope of the project. I try to complete work as fast as possible. It can take a couple of days, a week or couple of months. It depends on the amount of research, required to deliver the detail and accuracy. How do you charge? I charge based on the estimated hours required to complete your project. All projects being different, it is hard to give a specific price without knowing the research materials available or needed, source material provided, deadline, level of detail required or end use (effects size of illustration and therfore time). I transfer unlimited publication rights to the purchaser for any use requested. We are end user friendly regarding the rights you purchase. If you wish to have an illustration made from a photo, the 1976 revision of the copyright laws specify that an artist receive a derivative rights release from the photographer. I will need the original photographer's copyright release specific to derivative works before I can begin or I will need to visit the site and take original photos for the project. Rights for web, print publication and presentation are always provided without royalties to the buyer. Rights to the illustration of confidential subsurface depictions shall be transferred to client in full, with artist retaining portfilio and rights to unlabeled renditions so as to protect the location of the formations depicted.
