DONALD H LOKKE JR - ILLUSTRATOR
CEO - PETROLEUM ART

With over 30 years in illustration I have a strong portfolio of dramatic photo realistic and enhanced technical illustration. I also share a family history and heritage in oil. As the primary illustrator doing the work on your project you might be interested to know that I am the son of paleontologist, research geologist and award winning geology educator, Donald H. Lokke. I completed over 30 years of geology field trips with my father which started at infancy, illustrated 17 local geology field guides, 2 years of college level geology and completed a degree in advertising at Texas Tech University.

I am the perfect mix of artist and geo-literate marketing consultant. I know the difference between syncline and anticline. I can pick a reverse fault out of a lineup when seen in roadcuts. I know how to read dip and slope. Yes, I know the traditional symbols for shale, limestone, sandstone, marl, etc... useful but visually uninspired. I even know a bit about secondary recovery, CO2 injection and water flood recovery methods. I grew up with seismic thumpers, mud and hand lenses. Yes, there is a difference between a a softrocker and hardrocker, the latter has a pointy hammer. We had a drill bit for a doorstop and we are all thankful for the Barnett Shale.

I have a background that enables me to learn, process and visually render new petroleum processes, equipment, and concepts fast. While I am not a petroleum engineer, geologist or geophysicist, I am a digital artist with an eye for a visual that sells. I specialize in color, shading, perspective and imagination.

I have over 30 years as an advertising/marketing consultant working for clients that include JCPenney, Southland Corporation, Century 21, Clayton Homes, and many more.
